Start of Hanging Dry-wall, Heater Assembled, Natural Gas Ran
Start of Hanging Dry-wall, Heater Assembled, Natural Gas Ran
Sorry everyone I got a
little behind at the end of last week as I was running Ethernet and insulating
the garage and certain interior walls every day after work... Not much progress took
place last week as we were waiting for the hangers to put up the drywall and
they were not able to start until Friday. Basically they began dry-walling the
ceilings in the house, they finished the upstairs and the kitchen ceilings. The
heater was assembled down in the basement but still not all of the piping is
complete yet... The gas company stopped by on Friday and they were able to run
the gas line from the road to the house.

Drywall Delivery
Drywall Delivery
Not a lot to share on monday, basically all of the drywall was delivered to the house. The drywaller's should start hanging the drywall on Wednesday Morning. I also noticed that there was caulk ran on all of the framing boards around the windows and doors! I am not too sure if they did that when they did all of the other insulation and i just missed it or they came back today and did this, but it looked really good.Pictures from Mondays Progress
Insulation and Basement Floor Complete!
Insulation and Basement Floor Complete!
Sorry I have gotten a
bit behind, I have been going straight to the house after work insulating the
garage and running Ethernet cable throughout the house every day. I am going to
catch up on what has happened since last Thursday and today.
Thursday the Insulation
contractors came over to the house and completely insulated the entire garage
except for the basement insulation which is the home owner’s responsibility.
Although at this point I have gone ahead and insulated the Garage myself which
wasn't too bad and can be done easily if you are willing to take the time and
hang all of the insulation yourself, I think it ended up taking me about 3-4
hours and I did everything by myself which is why it took me so long... if I
had another person I probably could have knocked this out in an hour or two at
max.
They also poured the
basement floor and when I got home from work they were still working on the
finish of the floor. It's kind of hard to see because i wasnt able to walk on the floor yet, but the concrete looks really good and they are sloping to the sump pump pit which is nice.

Plumbing Day 2
Plumbing Day 2
They finished up most of the plumbing today. They have all of the septic pipe ran and they have the PEX pipe ran up to where the vanities, toilets, and bathtubs will be. It looks like they ran PEX throughout the house, which confused me a little bit because when I asked to use PEX they told me it was an $800 upgrade which I did not want to pay for... Anyways, they also plumbed in the bathroom in the basement and set the crock for the basement plumbing. They will be insulating all of the exterior walls and pouring the basement floor tomorrow. The plan is to start dry walling next week. I will be running my Ethernet and putting up my insulation in the garage before they start dry walling next week.
