Framing Day 4 - Enclosing the exterior walls, framing the stair way

Framing Day 4 - Enclosing the exterior walls, framing the stair way

Framing Day 4 has completed!

When I got off work I was hoping to see the rest of the trusses up, but it looks like they worked on framing in the stairwell, the front porch, and enclosing the exterior walls by adding more sheathing. Everything is looking good and its nice to come home everyday and see progress being made. I forgot to take a picture of it, but the framers did fix the framing of the kitchen window.

Framing Day 3 - Second Floor and Trusses

Framing Day 3 - Second Floor and Trusses

Framing Day 3 has completed!

A lot of work was completed today and the crew was able to frame up the second story and place the trusses over most of the house with the exception of the kitchen, garage, and porch. The windows and bathtubs were also delivered today. I talked to curt today regarding the window in the kitchen and a closet that is framed in that we decided to remove in the mudroom. He said he would take care of it, he also said that the framing crew will be finished on Tuesday of next week and that it would be a good idea to call the gas company to get on the schedule. Below are some pics from the third day of framing.

Garage is all framed up!

The second floor now has walls!

Framing Day 2 - First Floor

Framing Day 2 - First Floor

Framing Day 2 has completed!

We can finally see things coming along and are getting anxious! The framers came back first thing in the morning and laid all of the subfloors, framed up the entire first floor and added some of the exterior sheathing!

They have this window in the Kitchen, but I am pretty sure this is the wrong window. I am going to follow up with Curt to get this fixed before we get to far into the process.

Framing Day 1

Day 1 of framing has finished.

The framers started first thing Tuesday morning and they were able to install the sill plate and all of the floor joists. Everything is looking good, we are supposed to get a bunch of rain tonight, which I am wondering if that is why they did not install the subfloor as well...

Basement Waterproofing & Backfill

Basement Waterproofing and Back-filling the Basement Walls
Just as Curt had promised the basement contractors finished up removing all of the wall forms on Friday and so far everything looks good but I want to get down in the pit and take a closer look at the walls. Today they waterproofed the basement walls, back-filled the basement walls and filled the garage floor with stone. They also delivered some of the wood for framing! Things are starting to fall into place.

At this point the back-fill looks like a really rough grade and I’m guessing they will be coming back later in the process to do a finished grade, I am going to follow up with curt on this but here are some pictures.

The ground was really muddy and since i had my work shoes on i did not want to walk around the foundation, but i did notice a crack in the foundation where the porch and garage meet. I am going to bring it up with Curt to see if its something we should be concerned about.
